REBEKAH G. STRICKLAND
Rebekah G. Strickland is a principal of Lefkoff, Duncan, Grimes, Miller &
McSwain, P.C. Becky concentrates her practice in estate planning, estate
administration and tax exempt organizations.
Becky
works closely with her clients to analyze their personal and financial estate
planning goals and to develop a plan to achieve those goals. She then prepares
wills, trust agreements and other legal documents to implement that plan through
the use of sophisticated estate planning techniques.
Becky
also has extensive experience in establishing nonprofit tax exempt organizations
and in advising those organizations regarding a variety of tax, organizational
and operational issues. A special area of expertise involves advising clients
and assisting them in accomplishing their long-term charitable giving goals
through the establishment and operation of a private family foundation.
Becky
was admitted to practice in Georgia in 1985. She was a law clerk to the
Honorable Charles Clark, then Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals
for the Fifth Circuit (1985-1986). Before joining Lefkoff, Duncan, Becky
practiced in the areas of estate planning and tax exempt organizations with the
Atlanta firm of Kilpatrick & Cody (1986-1994), now Kilpatrick Stockton. Becky
is a member of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and the
Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. She also is
a member of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, through which she does pro bono work
for various arts organizations.
Becky
received her undergraduate degree (1978) in English, with high honor, from Agnes
Scott College, where she was a member of Mortar Board and was elected to Phi
Beta Kappa. She received her law degree (1985), magna cum laude, from the
University of Georgia, where she was a Notes Editor of the Georgia Law Review
and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
