DORA A. MILLER
Dora
A. Miller is a principal of Lefkoff, Duncan, Grimes, Miller & McSwain, P.C.
Dori concentrates her practice in trusts, estate and tax planning, and
probate and estate administration.
Her
practice includes the use of sophisticated and fundamental concepts of
estate and tax planning. From an extensive background in estate
administration, Dori works closely with the individual or corporate executor
to guide them through the administration process in a timely and
cost-effective manner. She assists with the initial probate of the Will,
the required tax filings, and post mortem tax planning through final asset
distribution.
Dori
was admitted to practice in Georgia in 1978 and is active in Bar Association
activities. She is a member of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar
of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, the Atlanta Estate Planning Council,
Inc., and National Association of Estate Planning Councils. She is an
accredited Estate Planner, past member of the Board of Directors of the
Atlanta Estate Planning Council, Inc., past President of the Atlanta Tax
Study Association and faculty member with Bridge the Gap for the State Bar.
Dori was recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine in 2004,
2005, 2006, and 2007. She is a frequent lecturer for the Fiduciary Law
Institute, Estate Planning Institute, numerous estate planning organizations
and community groups on estate planning matters.
Prior
to joining Lefkoff, Duncan in 1986, Dori was a Vice President in the Trust
Department of The Citizens and Southern National Bank (now Bank of America)
in Atlanta, Georgia. She also served as law clerk for the Superior Court
Judges of the Tallapoosa Circuit of Georgia.
Dori
received both her undergraduate degree (1975), summa cum laude, and her law
degree (1978) from Mercer University, where she was a member of the moot
court team.
